optOR Integration software package

The Optimus ISE™ is the first operating room environment that is fully integrated, so that all equipment and information management can be manipulated from a single wireless hand held tablet interface. The software package is capable of accepting all electrical equipment inputs (e.g. from cautery devices, ultarasound, operating table, overhead lighting etc.), even if they are not part of the initial integration package. Optimus is working toward a "plug and play" capability for newly introduced equipment.

Optimus is working with and developing chipset technology around a wireless bandwidth that it hopes will become the standard for protected medical wireless transmission in hospitals. This will preclude the possibility for outside wireless transmission interference with medical equipment in the operating room. Optimus will also be using encryption packages for the wireless tablet PC, that will limit the use of that tablet PC to the room that it is currently working in, so as to preclude the possibility of wireless interference with adjacent operating rooms.
