Variable digital solid-state ambient lighting (Optimus “AmbiWall™”)

With digital variable-color backlighting of the solid surface translucent wall material, dramatic ambient lighting is achieved. A sense of calm for both the patient and staff can be created with lighting. The patient can select a color lighting combination prior to entering the OR to create a desired, attractive and calming room ambience utilizing the formative capabilities of digital solid-state lighting.  Early studies by Philips indicate that ambient lighting results in a reduction of sedation rates by as much as 84%, resulting in a significant improvement in turnover time, particularly in ambulatory surgery.

Low level ambient lighting can be maintained throughout the room when required, improving safety for staff when low light conditions are required.
